Training Wheels

I just got home from picking up my bike that was getting fixed. Now, if only I could actually ride it…that is to be determined.

I have wanted a bike to ride for a long time now and this past winter a used bike came my way. It needed a new chain and tube but it was a pretty good bike otherwise. It took from the winter time until now, mid July, to get it fixed, in part due to the world current events and many stores having to close down for sometime. But, it is fixed now and I am super happy about that. Now, I just hope I can ride it. I am a bit vertically challenged to say the least. I am not the shortest person but I am only 5’1”- 5’2” and I think the bicycle may be a bit tall for me! I got it home and was going to ride it from the parking lot across the street from my apartment and just about…well... actually fell attempting to do so! So, I may be a bit self-conscious and have a bit of anxiety about trying to ride! I know little to next to nothing about bicycles so I am thinking that this bike may be too tall for me!

One of my goals is to be healthier and that includes being more physically active, losing weight and getting into better physical shape. I live near a bike trail and figured my bike and biking would be a great way to do this. My goal is to be able to ride from where I live near the bike trail in Glens Falls, up to Lake George and back down. Hopefully by the end of the summer next year, or by the fall of 2021 I can reach this goal. For now, my goal is just to be able to try and ride my bike in general! I may need to grow a few inches… 😝
